P.S All these bloody european countries that down tools/ have siestas/ work half days etc etc, no wonder their countries are in the shit and need bailing out - Lazy b*astards!

I'm in Spain at the moment, and yes, they do still shut down in the afternoon for siesta (it's too bl**dy hot to do much else), but typically they start at 08.00 and finish between 20.00-21.00, so overall the working day compares favourably with the UK.

Truth is that nowhere in the EU holds a candle to the Germans when it comes to working hours/productivity, which is why they are baling out the rest of the EU.

My dad worked in garages in spain and portugal repairing cars. He would start at 10am knock off at half 11 have a few beers in the afternoon, then siesta etc and correct, finished a bit later. He constantly moaned that everything was at too slow a pace and no one seemed too bothered if cars didn't get finshed etc. He said there was too much standing around and talking. In the end he came home cos it was too laid back, they were horizontal. He was very frustrated. He wanted to get on and work all day and finish the jobs. He once had a car in for a new wing that needed fitting and painting. It was still there 5 weeks later! Your countries economy isn't going to thrive in that sort of environment me thinks.
Anyway rant over lol. Enjoy your ds3 when it eventually turns up!

Just had CUK on phone and dealer as well.
They have moved the build date forward of my car to the 25th July and should get it by 2nd week of August.

Well chuffed that they have listened to my complaint and have pulled the date forward.

I think more likely what was happened is your details have been transferred to a different order.

On a side note what sort of lead time from the factory did you expect? From my experience people end up waiting for a new sofa far longer than it takes to build a car.

Only took 2 weeks from order to delivery when I bought a sofa last year, damn sight quicker than my car

It was a bit of an off the shelf thing though, no choice of colour or material, but it goes with the room and was a good price. Also at the time I'd just moved into a new place and didn't have a sofa, so need one quick.

Back on topic I've never taken delivery of a new car in less than 10 weeks, but that could be because I never choose standard spec.
