I really want it sorted today, its a hell of a gash. If I'd been doing any sort of speed it would have ripped the tyre to shreds looking at the gash

Try ATS in Wallsend. They normally have some pretty exotic tyres in stock. I've used them before when I had an Astra VXR.

Thanks. The ATS in Wallsend normally has a really good supply of tyres. Also, there's a place called Tyre Stop on Waterville Road in North Shields that's very good and cheap!

Have driven with "40" profiles rather than the "45" profiles (Distance between the rim of the wheel, and tyre touchin the road i think) and actually think the handling is better with the 40s rather than the 45s bridgestone potenzas that came with the car

Also known as the aspect ratio. This is denotes the sidewall height as a percentage of the tread width so 45 would mean that the sidewall height is 45% of the tread width. So on the stock 205/45/R17 tires the sidewall height would be 3.63 inches.
In General a lower sidewall height will flex less during cornering leading to better handling but on the other hand that less flexible sidewall would tend to give a harsher ride in normal driving. A common complaint of run flat tires that use stiff sidewalls to support the car when they are "flat"

40 profiles= very bad back and the same shit ride as a cooper S.

Still had no chance to get a price
