  • Loosing Water!!!

    Hi all,

had my ds3 from october last year. and since then ive lost all the coolent from my enginer TWICE...it seems to be if i sit for 20-30 mins a couple of times without moving, all the water just buggers off...obviously ive checked for leaks and the only thing i can find is a slightly dodgy cap! all i do now is check it all the time...but has anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried leaving some cardboard under the car as the water must be going somewhere!

yup, but it seems to be a very very slow leak...as its only happened twice since october. the cardboard was bone dry!

        Very strange!

If your coolant tank has emptied as you said there should be a rather large puddle under the car!

are you sure you're losing all of it?

How much do you have to put back in each time?

Even if he wasn't it's still a lot to be losing.

Get it into the dealership, explain the issue. Leave it with them till it's fixed.

That's true but if he was topping up the water when cold then you would expect to see a drop in the water level due to circulation of the cooling system which is why you should top up when the car is running
