DS3 Spare Wheel Utter Confusion

I am in the process of getting a DS3 DSport Plus with the 110BHP Diesel engine. I asked my dealership if I could order a space-saver spare wheel with it as I'm not a fan of the spray kit that comes with it.
I was told that as the spec of my order is a DSport Plus then the option of ordering a spare at £75 is not available to me.
He said he did not know why, but sepeculated that as it in a zero VED category in it's first year then it was probably something to do with staying within the rules of weight or something so that it remained eco-friendly.
Very strange though, because as far as I can see, one can order a DSport with exactly the same engine and wheels, and be able to order a space saver spare acording to the DS3 Touch brochure.
I'm struggling to see why a new DSport can have the addition of a £75 spare wheel at the point of ordering, but a new DSport Plus cannot.
Does anyone out there have the answer?

Your dealer gave you the right information about VED as most manufactures have removed the spare wheels due to weight issues, the real reason why there is no option on DS3 Plus versions is for stocking reasons.

Why not just order a DSport with the space saver and additional extras? o.0

Just ask your dealer to order up the parts you need to make up a spare wheel set, the saving on the overall cost of the car will still leave you quids in.

Or do what I have done for the last ten years and run with a 'Goo-kit'

Hi Bluenose, both mine & the wifes ds3 (d-style + special editions) came with that stupid goo kit but as my one at the time of me buying it was in the showroom i said i would only sign up for it if they put a spare wheel in & i got one!!! The wife after buying her ds3 came with me when i was looking to buy mine & kept telling the salesman that she wasnt happy with the goo kit & wanted a spare wheel & eventually they got her one free of charge!!! BOTH OF US WERE WELL PLEASED! Charlie

My experience with goo kits both in car and on motorcycle is they mostly tend to do the job...at least they have always gotten me home, but of course you have no chance of a puncture repair once you have that goo in the tyre. It's replacement only. Always got the AA as a backup plan

Not so, some wheel agents can remove the goo from a tyre and perform a repair.

I would always replace any puncture I got just as a matter of course.

yet another question, (sorry)
I got the space saver "RIM ONLY" jack, brace, jackbox, and the other bits off the dealer FOC from their parts dept but said they had no tyres to fit.
I think this was a clever ploy as a new 125/80/15 costs £80. but I can get a 135/80/15 for £33.53 on the net delivered from http://www.tyretraders.com
now, my question is!
will the wheel still fit nice and snug in the well as it's 10mm wider.
I can get second hand ones 125/80 but I don't know their history so could be 10 years old and has a wash and some dressing to make them look good.

Don't know about it fitting in the wheel well but as to how old a tyre is, the info is printed on the side of the tyre see here for an explanation of how to read it. http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/.../care/age.aspx
