Well the DS3 is due for delivery Thursday however, I have been trying to sort out insurance but when I put the reg number in it's not recognised by any of the comparison sites. It's also not recognised on the DVLA site. I figured it's because it's so new but then how have all you guys who have also got new contract hire cars managed to sort insurance ? Need to sort this out quickly!

I had a similar issue when I started looking for insurance for my new DS3...
I got around it by putting the make and model in, which you can do on most comparison sites... That way it should give you an accurate quote...
Once I decided on an insurance company, I gave them a call to go through the policy, and gave them the reg over the phone. They confirmed it wasn't on their system yet, but didnt cause any issues for the policy...
HTH.

Do Citroen still offer the 7 days free insurance with a new car, you should be able to get it covered for the first week & give you time to arrange your own policy whilst enjoying the car. When I got my Racing last year I arranged my insurance whilst I was at the dealers sorting out the paperwork and payment the day before I picked her up, even used the dealers phone to do itDS3 Racing, also available in White!!!

Our quotes are hovering around the £300 mark but I do have my wife on there also so I guess it's not so bad. 9 years no claims though and full car/bike license with no points or convictions for the last 30 year. Never seems to go much lower than £300 no matter what I do Still not sorted the insurance by the way. Need to nail it tomorrow in time for cars arrival on Thursday morning.

Know where your coming from, had bikes for several years before taking my car test & then buying a car, after 5 months driving a crappy old 1300 Escort I bought an Escort RS Turbo, first years insurance on it was £1400 & that was when £1400 was worth something :rolleyes:DS3 Racing, also available in White!!!

When insuring a new car you just need to tell the broker/agent that fact and all shall be fine. Most online sites allow you fill in details of a new car when filling in the forms....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!
