Thats because I booted it lol. More fuel going in than a normal engine, more combustion, more smoke. Remember when I boot it I literally floor the engine in a decent gear range so the engine is working at just about full load.

It's a sports car, that's how you're supposed to drive a sports car, they're designed for it. It might sound funny but I think a few of the thp issues have caused by people driving too gingerly. It's always good for an engine to really let rip from time to time, let's it remember what it was designed for and can clear crap out of things.

Not saying drive like me but every now and then really really go for it and properly let rip.

lol :-) The THP is good either way tho, if you want to be economical then you can get decent mpg.....not why i bought it at all :-) but its fast and thats why i bought it! also the good looks of the car too :-)

Because I have more torque now round town on any stretches I'll be doing 30 in 5th gear, 40 in 6th- does wonders for MPG

Do people trust these figures ?

Are they really that accurate from these apps ?

the timing figures are accurate as it reads your ecu speed- working out hp and torque though depends on to too many variables especially weight that are impossible to get right. For example it looks like Jimbob has put his vehicle weight in way too low.

And fish- I disagree with you big time on that mate. Anything mechanical needs to be taken up and down throughout its tolerances or the metal can actually fatigue through lack of stress not to mention because of the turbo charger there's pressure dependant systems that a good blast out is very good for. When I say good blast I do not mean NOS

Jimbob, I reckon you should get under 9 if it's mapped to 125BHP and about 230lb of torque

My engine blew before it had NOS fitted.

Are you really trying to persuade me though that nobody who has driven their car hard fairly often has not had the THP failure?

Did I say ALL problems there fish? Did I? Nope...giving any engine a good thrash from time to time is good for it.

                              Getting back to the thread.............

Latest attempt = 15.2 secs (Damn in my rush I went from 2nd gear to 5th!!!).
On the diesel what revs should I be changing at for max accelleration? About 4000?

                              Jimbob

Have a play and figure out where your gear stops pulling hard and where the next gear starts pulling most. Never had a proper play in the diesel to say anything more
