  • Grrrrrr........

Took my little Buzzbomb back to the stealers yesterday to have the fuel consumption looked into. Got a call at 1pm telling me the car is ready for collection and what a surprise, no fault found!
Seems my car is doing more MPG than Citroen says it does. As soon as they said that, I knew which route they took it on. Doing 4 miles downhill back to the workshop on a light throttle opening at 60 with the trip reset is obviously going to come back with outstanding figures. I asked the mechanic if he took that route and he said yes, so at least I'm not paranoid.
To add insult to injury, they have damaged the car. Sat on the back step this morning, I glanced at the car and saw a crease down the drivers door. It's a proper crease where the door has been opened in to something and it's put a 5 inch crease where the door skin meets the door shell. Is there any point in saying anything? Although I know it wasn't there before as I washed the car on the way to the dealers and know every mark on it, they're just going to deny it. I didn't see it on collection as it was convieniently parked tight to a large van. I'm so angry right now and starting to wish I'd gone elsewhere.

Well I've done what they asked and filled up the car, done 116miles and refilled at the same petrol station, same price. Average speed 29 mph, mostly driven granny fashion with light throttle openings, changed gear as per gear indicator, empty boot etc and mostly motorway. Managed 42.49 mpg. Also I filled it to the brim and its missing 2 bars on the fuel gauge. Friday overtime car?

Your Ds3 should of had a pre inspection of bodywork from your dealerership in which defects if any to your vehicle had been noted...If the inspection didn't happen then i suggest you complain to Citroen Uk about the dealership in question.

There was nothing like that done when I dropped it off, she gave me the loan car keys and sent me on my way.
I've talked to Citroen UK and they're calling me next week.

As a footnote, my mate has just done a journey and I've worked out his mpg.
'98 Grand Espace (the huge long HGV one), 2.2 dt. He did 292 from Somerset to Walsall and back at mostly 85, he gives it plenty of throttle, got stuck in tailbacks 25 miles from Birmingham so that would simulate town driving, drove around walsall too over the weekend and managed an overall figure of 38 mpg. Thats 4 less than my DS3 does. Cant wait to talk to Citroen now.
