  • New 62 plate has now arrived

    Good morning fellow DS3ers

Well it has finally arrived, my sport red DS3 which i got the keys for on Wednesday afternoon.

Very, very impressed with it, scrap that, I LOVE IT.

Couple of gripes when it arrived though.

Loads of swirls on paintwork esp on the roof and about half a dozen bird dropping stains that proved difficult to shift. Looked they had been there for at least a few weeks.

Interior lighting is virtually non existent and no place (hook/handle) to hang my suit jacket in the back. Now going to have to buy a car seat hanger.

I asked the fleet company that my company use to fit a bluetooth hands-free kit for me as standard kit didn't come with one. (No cost to me) When it arrived a Motorola TK30 had been fitted which connects both my work and personal phones simultaneously and I can also connect my Ipod to a connecting wire in the glovebox which charges it and titles/artists can be viewed and controlled on the display. Great piece of kit and anyone in the market for something similar, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I swapped over the front and rear indicator bulbs to give it a cleaner look at the front end, added the Citroën dust valves, put in 8 led bulbs in sidelights, number plate, interior foot mood lighting and interior bulb.

Suppose you want to see some pictures so before I add them, a brief summary of the BIG first detail.

Fantastic First Detail! And, ideal to do it just after you got it so absolutely minimal swirls in it - even though there were some - the Zaino products I suspect will cover those well...

Must admit the Zaino products do leave a nice finish given it's all by hand!

That Auto Finesse Satin on the Wheels looks good - will be interested to know what the durability is like, and whether you get any sling (i.e. if the wheels spinning causes any small dots of it to fling onto the paintwork behind the wheels).

Do you fancy one weekend meeting up when you fancy a go on your machine (to permanently remove the swirls), as I might be due to give mine a mini machine go over soon....pm me if you do....

    Regards,
    Clive.

      Cheers Clive

The Zaino was really easy to use and getting lots of admiring looks already. Always finding shop windows to see the cars reflection in lol

No sling whatsoever from the AF Satin

Looking good Racoon! We'll have to have a red car meet and get some good photos. CliveP did mine yesterday and it looked great next to his. Pics to follow once I'm not stuck at work.

LOL, I must admit if I'd have had some time this morning I would have been giving mine a quick go over, but with some business I needed to do today, now the clouds have formed I might have to live with it as is this week..... it's been a over year since I machined mine, so was just after I got it - it doesn't really need it, but nice to drive that new polisher of mine around your car yesterday Beef, so a quick whizz round mine might be fun, LOL! Just wish I had even more time with yours yesterday as I hate rushing the last bits, but the light was going and you needed to go!

A Sports Red detailing meet sounds an interesting idea - but then I wouldn't mind doing a DS3 detailing meet but there was no interest last time I suggested it after joining! I would happily 'spot treat' any swirls or marks people had .....

Do like Rabid's first attempt for sure!

                    Regards,
                    Clive.

I ordered mine about 5 months ago. It's a company car and had to wait for my previous car to hit 60k mileage plus I wanted it to be a 62er anyway.

Hang in there mate, the wait is well and truly worth it.

                            What colour have you chosen?
