  • So I Thought I Was Lucky........

So I've had my DS3 THP150 for nearly 2 years and haven't had a single problem. Then last week I put it in for an ECU software upgrade. A couple of days after this my temperature gauge started going right up into the red, to the point where the "stop" alarm on the dash went off. This was happening even on a 20 minute trip to pick my son up from school.

It probably has nothing to do with the upgrade, but the timing is very coincidental. The engine is actually running pretty hot as the fan is working overtime.

It is booked in tomorrow, so I'll see what they come up with.

Anyone had something like this happen?

So when you checked your coolant did it look to be within the thresholds?

So it turns out there was a leak in the water pump, and as a result my car was devoid of all coolant (As I found out after Dangerousfishes post ).

A new pump has been ordered and should arrive in 2-3 weeks, which is thankfully covered under warranty.

Dealership were great and even gave my car a wash and detail.

2-3 weeks to long what they doing making it themselves , urgent parts orders are next day and stock orders are 2 days I would advise you not to drive it if the water pump is leaking if the engine is damaged due to the result of the water pump leaking they may say you caused the damage as you been using the car.

Water pump is on drivers side of engine above and aft of crankshaft pulley. Can't see it at all from top of engine. Best access is to pull off the wheel and the plastic wing liner.

Manual your guess is as good as anyones

That really is pitiful that they do not have a pump on hand, or in country from the sound of it. It's not an uncommon piece to fail, there have been a couple of them replaced on members cars here including mine.
