  • Tailgate glass rattle

    Hi all,

This is doing my head in. I've had my DStyle+ in 4 times now to fix this problem and it won't go away. When driving there is a rattle from the tailgate and I've narrowed it down to the actual glass vibrating. Banging the glass when not moving causes the same "clicking rattle".

Has anyone had a similar problem and how can I get it through to the bloody mechanics that the glass is the problem? All they seem to do as assume the whole tailgate is rattling.

Is it worth getting onto Citroen head office about this?

    Help!!

Is your banging with the tailgate open or closed?

I had a screw loose in the tailgate (which shouldn't of been there) rattling around whenever the tailgate was opened. Took it into dealer's and they removed the trim on the tailgate interior to get the screw out.

The rattle occurs with the tailgate closed. Its definitely the glass as if you thump it you can replicate the rattle /tapping. I took the lady from the service desk out for a spin and she thinks replacing the glass will fix it. I hope so, its driving me mad.

What I'm getting at is the glass is mounted onto the tailgate via a heavy duty rubber liner plus foam rocker pads. If you can't get the noise when the tailgate is open then it's not the glass.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the fittings. It's in with Citroen at the moment so can't check. Hopefully when they replace the glass they will seat it correctly.

              It's fixed!!!

Turns out it was to do with the locking mechanism rattling.

Thank God, I was going mad!!

                  Youre all lucky!
Try find a couple of annoying rattles somewhere round the dashboard, when youre doing a certain speed on the motorway
Rather difficult trying to find it at that certain speed- specially when other drivers see yer head ducking and diving around
And yes- tried getting the passenger to find it- that hasnt worked either
SATnav holder, air vents, change in change pod, mobile phone holder and the dashboard itself. No go
At least its only now and again

The locking latch is very easy to adjust yourself
