  • Best roadside assistance RAC-AA Other?

Sure most of us have a bit of piece of mind having breakdown cover and I am currently on RAC Roadside/Home and have had recovery aspect before.
(Got a 5 mile tow to the nearest FORD service dealer, as the coil pack went on my Focus but had to sugn up to recovery)

Can also upgrade to get lifts home, tows to service dealers, onward journey etc etc if broken down.

They can get pricey, but as I am tripping some 300miles away from home on occasions for work, am having a rethink as to whats best

Anybody aware of some good deals, whats a must have, and any smaller groups offering the service
Whats AA, Green Flag like- any others get a recommendation?

Contact Citroen Assistance, they normally offer a great deal on breakdown recovery when renewal time comes, one customer got two years full AA cover for £120.

I'm with AA as I've got discounts as I learned with them, never had to call them out yet, almost had to at one point as I almost ran out of petrol on one of my journeys and had no money on me :L but I think mine includes pick up too I'm not sure

Ive never used any recovery service but have experience with them from a motorway/ traffic point of view. AA are useless, take the longest and dont seem to fix very many at the roadside.
        RAC seem good and reliable.
Greenflag seem good too although they tend to contract recovery out to local garages more than the other 2, from what ive seen anyway. Still turn up in good time though.

If you are looking to get cover check the cashback sites first

My AA cover also comes with my Lloyds account, I've used RAC, Green Flag and the AA in the past (mainly to cover my wifes cars)and they are all much the same regarding call out / attendance times.

If you don't get cover from your bank/other, just watch out for the ridiculously high renewal quotes.

Mind to read the small print regarding these account tie ins as normally they only recover to the nearest garage not your nearest Dealer.

Citroen Assistance is good in that respect as they will recover you to your serving dealer regardless of distance.

Renewal time looming (3 weeks) and thanks for all the comments. Will be contacting all providers everyones named on this thread.
Seems RAC are bout £120 for everything, AA bout £130 and GREENFLAG seem to be £60 for the same cover. Seems strange? They are all new joiner fees to (So spose they go up after 12 month- so you just keep changing)
