  • A VERY sad farewell after 89452 miles :(

Last Friday I had to part company with HY60 MRX as the lease was up.

Didn't quite make 90000 miles in 2 years but I was only a few days away from doing it.

THIS WAS THE BEST COMPANY CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN!!!!!!

It refused to go wrong in any shape or form in the 2 years I had it.

The only glitch was self inflicted as I was playing petrol station roulette & nearly ran it dry which clogged the fuel filter & made it difficult to start until a new filter was fitted but this could happen to any car & is not a bad reflection on the DS3.

If you see the car about, give it a pat & wish it well in it's (well deserved) retirment.

Our company are piddling about with leases at the moment but the minute we can have leases, I'm ordering another one!

I intend to run mine into the ground until the engine pops and then turn it into a track car lol. But knowing these HDi engines and seeing that mileage i think id get bored before that would happen.

Didnt you get an option to buy it- may have been good price at that mileage?
Or even track down the auction it goes to
Could go for a song- 6-7 Grand?
And youve owned it from new

Although I may have got it for a good price, I have been spoiled with having a company car & the security blanket it offers in the form of "this bit/tyre/engine is broke/worn", get me another one pronto
I need that sort of back up a company car gives & also it would not pay me to run my own car & take the money (I've checked)

                Fair enough ds3mik
I had company cars for 10 years- was great- petrol card, serviced, taxed....everything
Didnt want it to go- then the tax laws changed. Year 2000ish . Liability all of a sudden was mine in relation to Inland Revenue
So went to mileage allowance (First 10,000 not taxable at 45p per mile)
My THP pays for itself easy ona tank by tank petrol basis(Turbo Sport) and gives me a fair bit on top. So actually make money for having a sporty car of my choice
Thats why now I would only buy
Drawback is I pay upfront for the vehicle, and in total it takes probly next 5 years to pay for itself to that date- but then its making me pure profit!
Thats why I dont move cars on that quick
