  • First service due on DS3 1.6 HDI-E...

Wondering if someone could advise me/us.

First service is up on the DS3, has done around 10k at the mo and its interm service is due.

Basically a oil and filter change and off we go. Citroen want close to £300 for this

Its my GF car and am wondering where do we stand with this as it seems to be extortionate. I service all my own cars myself and 300 for what will be 20 minutes work seems a bit mad.

The car is on a PCP deal currently, are we tied to take it just to Citroen dealers or can we use approved indies?

Or is it just a case of suck it up?

    Thanks in advance.

£300?!? I personally would have asked the dealer if he was joking. I would try and get a quote from another agent to compare if it's possible. If you go down the independent route be careful as there a few holes you can fall into, first make sure that they used genuine parts in order to avoid a main agent using the power of veto. Second make sure that the book is stamped correctly and the schedule was followed as listed in the service book.

Point to note though is that you are a bit too early, the service must be carried out at either a 1,000 miles to go or within 30 days of the service due date and the interval for your car is 12,500 or 2 years (pre July 2012).

Yeah there is no way a first service should be £300. She pus about a k a month on it so will fall around Christmas id imagine miles wise.

Can anyone tell me what the cost of theirs was at a dealer for the first service?

If i cant get any sense out of them I will go down the independent route.

I like this new word "Dearler". It's like a dealer but costs more!!!

Well called a local Citroen approved and that's come in at 199 so we are getting there.

One cheeky set of robbers quoted £320

A point to note when your getting quotes is to ask for the labour rate, this will allow you to bargain between agents. Don't be frightened to go back to the first dealer with a counter offer for that service

This is pretty much what I told my gf when she told me, I just wanted to vent on here and see if it was the norm, which I suspected it wasn't.

I service my own car and seeing as its only a oil change I find £300 insulting thb.

Will report back if I can find it cheaper.

                  Hi bungz
Please let me know what price you get as my 110 e hdi dsport due its first service soon too....I usually send an email or phone up 3 or 4 local dealers and ask for their best price then play the best 2 off against each other. As long as they are not part of the same group it normally works!
Good luck and think of the money you save as going towards the other halfs Xmas present...every cloud

Been quoted £270, £284 and £310 for first service on my 2012 110ehdi dsport...all 3 dealers within about 10 miles of each other in b'ham.
That sound right?! Bit steep to me but guess got no choice as lease car and need the dealer stamp.
Anyone had decent 1st service in West Midlands for less at Citroen dealer please let me know... Cheers

Was going to get my first service 1st March 2013, had it booked in, arrived there and basically was told to come back when the car had done 12.5k instead, fair enough. I've got free servicing for the first 3 years (I think), the price otherwise that I was told would be £171.

When asked my dealer quoted a similar price pmk for mine, luckily I have the free servicing so it was done last week as it was only 200 miles off the 12,500 mark.

£171 seems fair, did that include VAT guys?
Strange that 2 dealers over 200 miles apart quote similar prices but mine £100 more
Phoning Preston in morning...local dealer said they will try and price match so nothing to lose!

As far as I know the quote was inclusive of VAT.

Yeah I assumed mine was too, although didn't check as I didn't have to pay...

Have you tried getting a quote from these:
