  • Bye Bye DS3

After nearly two and a half years its time to say goodbye to the DS3. Its been fun and have never had a days trouble out of it after 35,000 miles (Apart from creaking and vibrarting parts....)

I went into Citroen and they were doing £2,750 off a C4 VTR+ which was a good deal as I aslo wanted to go back to a bigger car. After reading reviews though the C4 wasnt coming off great so I popped into Hyundai. I am now picking up on Thursday a i30 1.6 diesel with the same spec as the C4, which I got a great deal on as its a 2 month old pre-reg with only 14 miles on the clock.

I know its not going to be as fun to drive but want a bigger car and the choice was between the C4 or i30. I was also suprised that the i30 only has 4 speakers but kicks out almost as much bass as the HiFi pack with sub in the DS3!!

This has been a great forum and will probably be checking back to see what is happening in the DS3 world!

    :O

Surely there's more choice for your requirements than just a C4 or an i30 ???

I was originally looking at new A3, Merc A Class or Guilietta. After the misses got a mini coupe SD I wanted something nice and quick.

But things change and didnt want to spend a huge amount more a month on a bigger car.

The Astra is expensive and dont get a lot of kit as standard, the Focus boot isnt much bigger then the DS3 and again have to add a lot of optional gear to get a good spec. Dont like Peugeot 308. Civic too expensive, woldnt buy a Seat after bad problems with the wifes Ibiza and the dealer. Meganes do nothing for me, and the Toyotoa Auris is bland (Not seen new one though) I Like the Fiat Bravo but is ancient now!!

I know I cold buy second hand but do a lot of miles and want someting realible that I know the history of.

I liked the DS3 as it was new and nothing like it on the road at the time, now I see at least 6 or 7 a day and I must say the majority being driven be people over 60!!!
