I've only got one key. Leasing company never trusts you with a second.lol.

It surprised me to! I had a D Style Plus to start with and wasn't expecting a Poverty key.... but then I saw sense and got a D Sport.

I loved my D Style Plus but it doesn't compare to a D Sport Plus!!

My old Toyota MR2 Roadster came with 2 remote keys and 1 manual/service key which iirc could do everything except unlock the glovebox, not very handy if you kept your locking wheel nut key and service book in there. I never saw the point of it and it never left the house the whole time I owned the car
DS3 Racing, also available in White!!!

So that'll be one for the driver, one for the AA recovery man, one for the service engineer, one for the etc etc

                Right time sort this out....

The reason that DSport/Ultra/Racing come with 2 Remote Keys and the other models don't is very simple - those models have the alarm fitted.

The reason the cheaper models come with only one remote key is to save money, nothing more! The same reason the DStyle doesn't come with an alarm (which surprised me a bit, I must say!).

they have to "save money" if you're the one being a tight-ass and buying a lower spec model!

you got to pay more to get more, and as the keys are v expensive for what they are they're the first and easiest bits to downgrade.

I leased the DSport and was pleasantly surprised with my two remote keys - and i'm quite happy to pay the £250 for the 110 e-HDI DSport - excellent little motor!

I have leased lots of cars over the past few years - various VW, Honda, Mercedes etc. I've had various trim levels too (including a loan VW Golf in the absolute base spec). Always got 2 remote keys, hence me being a bit surprised. I would say a car worth £15k is "being a tight-ass". Fair enough if it was a VW Fox or something!

Anyway, enough of the bickering. I love the car, but trying to defend the decision to only provide one remote key is a bit daft.

                        One for Bigfeet....
If I bought a used fob off say ebay, I accept that it will need the transponder chip coding to my car, but can it be programmed to operate the remote locking and can a blank blade to fit the fob be purchased seperately?

My Alfa 156 had 3 remote keys which was quite handy at times, although none of them would de-activate the alarm one night when it decided to go off...and I had to drive it across London to get home...

Yes to the first one, any remote can be reprogrammed to operate a different car from it's original.

As the for second one I only ever found one website that sell fobs with blanks and that is http://www.hickleys.com/diagnostics/keys_list.php
