I have read previous posts about footrest, or rather the lack of one. How long will the carpet last I wonder? I have just ordered one at a cost of £28 and wondered if fitting it was best done by screws or Velcro? I noticed others have fitted it by using both of these methods. Any body know which is best?

Helped Beef with his the other weekend.
The foam pad underneath where the footrest should be is big enough to screw into with the screw provided.
Just line it up, get them finger tight and then you should be able to get the rest of it in with a screwdriver (that's what she said).cyclone> Fish is the man

Yeah Fish helped fitting mine at the Meadowhall meet the other week. You get screws and a rubbish diagram in the bag with it.
You'll need a Torx T-20 screwdriver (or T-20 attachment):
I found the best thing to do was use strong double sided electrical tape to stick the footrest to the carpet and find the best position. Then use a beautiful assistant (thanks Fish) to hold the screws straight while you screw them firmly into the foam. Pretty straight forward but I found it easier to screw them while sitting in the passenger seat and leaning over (I'm right handed).
Hope that helps, PM me if you have any issues.
