  • My "problem "

Hi al you guys and girls,

I just got home , and I realised I have a problem lol.
I just can't drive calm with my little ds...
really I'm always taking it to the max, note: I always do that when
I'm alone in the car and on straigt lines where you can drive 90km/h or 70..
so I don't threaten any people on the road or pedestrians...
but I'm scared that I will brake the engine down,
or is it really made to go to highest RPM's possible like 8 our of 10 times?

I just can't drive calme if the fun comes in when driving my car to the limit..

I worry about my engine too. Have only done 450 miles in my diesel and I'm scared to drive too fast in case I break it!!! Should I carry on being a granny or can I let loose???

Let loose, you don't have to break new engines in these days. I drove to Paris three days after getting mine and after a steady drive to the ferry we just drove normally on the other side and fairly quick as we were going to be late for the factory visit.

I would check your owners manual and stick to whatever that recommends. It will usually give you an RPM and speed limit for the first ~1500 miles.

Nothing in the handbook at all because it doesn't need it.

Hence the comment 'see what it recommends'... no recommendation, no need to worry .

ive been told by scania and man that on the lorries you need to give it the beans on diesel engines when brand new otherwise the later life of the engine will be lacking in power, whereas with petrol you should take it easy to start.
