So my number plates got stolen on Saturday night, proper pain in the ass. I'm getting new ones made (with a gb sticker to ensure they look different to the stolen set). Does anybody know the correct place to drill for screws? The originals were only stuck on which is why they were targeted. Can I crew them anywhere or is there something behind the plates which shouldn't be screwed into?

First things first is to inform the police and the DVLA about the theft, when calling the DVLA you can ask about being re-issued a different number (high recommended).
In regards to screwing the plates on both the front and rear bumpers are plastic so it doesn't matter where you drill just as long it's not through one of the letters!...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

I think they can be screwed in anywhere along the bumper where the number plates normally sit, might be worth waiting to see if Bigfeet confirms this though. I have these which are supposed to make it more difficult to steal number plates - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richbrook-Th...1182452&sr=8-2
They are easy to use and touch wood no one has nicked mine yetsigpic

Theoc- your plates could be involved in a bank job (Unlikely) or put on a nicked motor
As Biggus says, best report them stolen, or you may get a Sweeney Todd visit early one morning
I assume personal plates stick out too much, for people to wanna put them on nicked cars!
