Any comments for a young driver, not loaded with cash, looking at the VTI 82 for £11k new?
The performance would'nt be great i know- would like a test drive
Or maybe a used THP 150 both petrol and insurance higher - as Biggie suggested a while back
I'm 23 and my insurance for the THP is ridiculous. If cash is an issue I'd probably recommend not going with the THP.

The VTI is a really easy drive, it's not as powerful as the THP but you can still get around cars quite easily with your foot planted.

Are you specifically looking at a petrol or is a diesel an option too?

I have driven the VTi 82 engine and to be honest will you it's fine, a nice perky little unit. Granted it's never going to win any traffic light Grand Prix's but day to day it would be good.

To be honest with you if cash is tight (and you'll need it for insurance) then go looking for a nice used 1.4 VTi DSign, there should be plenty to choose from on the used market. There is no point in saddling yourself with crippling insurance costs if you can help it.

Diesels- not really. Thats why the vti at about 60mpg looks a nice option
Dont really wanna race around- mum and shops and stuff. Sad I know

Biggie- thinking a new one, extra expense, but for the back up of long warranty and servicing and stuff

First quote I had insurance was £2000! But havent fished around
Can sometimes get half if you fish around, increasing excesses and that.
But think its not really an option.

Just don't set your heart on getting 60mpg day to day, my diesel only manages those kind of figures on motorways and long journeys

In regards to the warranty if you look at a used one make sure you buy from a Select dealer, that way you will get the full Citroen warranty fro 12 months which you can top up form around £250. Might work out more cost effective in the long run?
