  • The day from hell

Well went out to the car yesterday and found this

It happened sometime through the night no one has seen or heard anything the police have been and as nothing was seen nothing can be done . The scratches are down to the metal . Im so angry this has happened it is gonna cost me my insureance excess which lucky enough seeing as this is a motabilty car is £75 but its the expense and time wasted getting the repair done that reaaly gets me

That's rotten - mine was vandalised a while back (although not as bad as that - sheesh), so I've got some idea how you must feel.

What gets me is the senseless of it all really. Still get it fix and move on mate but relish the notion that in about 15 years time those kids will have grown up and have cars themselves and one day they may get vandalised in the same way and they will know how you felt.

              Would be poetic justice really.

Oh and i am concerned that if i get it repaired (which to me is a fair bit of money to pull out in one) that itll happen again and i will have to pay to repair it yet again . Ive looked at cctv cameras on ebay and i think the £30 or so itll cost for one will be worth it to catch the one who done it by the way forgot to mention this happend to my old car before this but not as bad as this

Gutted to see the damage they've done

It's unlikely you'll be able to find a decent CCTV setup for £30, you'll also need to look at having some sort of DVR.

If you're comfortable with technology there are a bunch of IP Camera tools you can use and set them to save to a network hard drive.

If it happened to your previous car it does sound personal doesn't it ?

"The recorder comes supplied with a 2GB memory card and can record 11 hours per channel or 20000 still images."

That means you'll need to wipe the memory card every 11 hours if you're recording 24/7.

I had a similar problem at my old place and ended up moving.

My setup was 1 camera at the back, one at the front all connected to a DVR with 2TB storage set to recycle itself every 2 weeks. It was a bit extreme but served it's purpose.

That setup looked good as it switches the tv over when the camera is activated by ir (i can run an old tv to it) then you can record as you wish that i can do through the day then set it to record all night put the contents on my laptop and see if anything is worth keeping plus i can always get a larger memory card
