Uprated Stereo

Hello again!

3rd thread on my first day of membership - i hope you guys dont mind!

I am curious to know in what way the uprated stereo (that comes when you get the connecting box) differs from the standard radio, both in terms of functionality and looks?

I know it allows bluetooth / usb, but otherwise how is it any better?

Does the head unit look the same?

Patience, normally with threads like these you need to wait for someone with experience of the topic to post..... Folks like me who have a DSSport+ can't really help....

I opted for the hifi pack as an extra and I think you get a dash speaker and the boot mounted sub. The display is still in the orange/black format, but with more graphics and options to display.

So glad I got the upgrade, does make a difference to my journey having a good quality set up.

Yes that's what I thought (and what I meant!).

Is the "head unit" i.e. the bit with the buttons / CD slot the same?

ALSO, how is the bluetooth accessed (I know I will be shown this tomorrow by the dealer, but I am an eager beaver loL!) - I cant see a "phone" button anywhere on the pics?

You access the phone/iPod/USB etc via the Source button on the unit or the button at the end of the stalk on the steering column on the right

I don't think so. Mine is 3 years old, so I really don't know how it has changed re layout. I have a Dstyle with a hifi pack. Do you want some photo's?

Re being 'shown things by the dealer'

So we could pretty much tell you anything and you could ask your dealer about it.......... AS IF we would make anything up....

My dealer (great guy) just gave me the key, pointed out I needed petrol and got me to sign the customer service questionnaire he had already filled in for me! And I was on my way.

Yesterday was indeed THE day!

This is the "uprated hifi" that I have;

The stereos are the same, the only difference between the two set-ups is the addition of the central 'vocal' speaker, the subwoofer in the boot and the USB socket.
