My 1.6 115 Ehdi is averaging about 56 mpg. I drive mainly motorway and think I should be getting better economy. Maybe I'm too heavy footed! Maybe it's the cold weather with the lights being on more and the heater too. My ac is on constantly too as I keep the temp on auto. Does anybody know if that makes a difference to the mpg?

On the country roads that make up my daily commute I'm often caught behind lorries trundling along at 40mph for long stretches, the only way to make any progress is to use some 'ponies'.

So I get huge differences in instant mpg normally around 60-65, followed by brief spurts of absolutely terrible economy, but on average (and with a fairly heavy foot) I'm still seeing 44.8mpg - which for me is quite satisfying.

I agree with Clive's comments though - I work hard and I'm not that bothered about the economy, especially after the Merc - that did 25mpg!

That's my current average too Rach, well I get a fraction more, before the remap I was getting around 52-53mpg with racy driving. Like you I have the Auto AC on all the time though and this does make a difference to mpg according to all the reports/reviews I read, just not sure how much. Then you read that you need to run your AC for at least 30mins a week to ensure it functions correctly long term and I prefer to leave it on all the time

Basically since the remap my mpg is improved, I can drive faster and accelerate better and leave the Auto AC on without losing my mpg average - I'm happy with that...

Manufacturer figures are obtained on a dyno running an EC-defined test procedure; they bear no relationship whatsoever to real-life consumption!

When I had a car remapped before I saw reduced mpg ( was a 1.9 jtd punto though)
How much are remaps for these and does it affect warranty ??

The remap Jamie did at SP Tuning deffo improved my mpg and that's with me testing out the power/acceleration improvements a lot

Contact Jamie (via the forum, send him a PM) for a quote for your car....

Re the Warranty I think it will depend on your dealer, Jamie can probably explain better but I think they would have to prove that it caused the fault to be looked at under warranty, the bigger concern for me is that I waited until after the 12500 mile service to minimise the risk of a Citroen remap for the ECU. When it has the next service I will state no remaps etc but expect a discussion on it....

My first week of using mine for work, 36 mile trip each way with CC set @ 60mph I get an average og 68mpg in the morning and 74mpg on the way home. Its what I bought it for, but when I feel the urge / need then I know there is enough to get me going.......

Had my new DSport HDI nearly 7 weeks now so thought I would see what the MPG is now the engine is done 1700 miles and is slowly loosing up. I was pleased so far with the results as I hit 70.7 mpg this week driving A roads, and have averaged 67.3 since I bought the car.

Will be interesting to see once its run in a little more and the warmer weather arrives if the 115BHP HDI will be as good or better than my 90BHP HDI which at best did 76.8mpg which was also on A roads. The average at present is almost the same as the 90BHP averaged 68.7 from new.

(Sorry about the pics can't seem to get them to turn when uploaded)

Looking at the figures here I am very disappointed by the 46MPG I average in my D-Sport Diesel. Most of the mileage is travelling to work on B roads but having had a Hyundai i20 petrol which returned 45MPG I think that figure is quite poor.

Sounds pretty low for a diesel unless you've been thrashing it. Probably worth getting it booked in.

I agree 46mpg sounds extremeky low would expect at least 54mpg if not higher.
