  • DStyle plus oil leak?!?

    Hi folks,

Well, I have had my car since July 2012, she's only done 7,500 miles. I have noticed that I have a dark mark on my Tarmac. At first I thought it might just be condensation from the A/C with the warm weather but I went to my car this evening after finishing work and there was a fresh patch on the ground in the work car park, I felt it and sure enough, feels like oil. Checked the oil level, didn't really seem to of lost much but the patch on the floor was concerning me.

Has anyone else had this? Looks like a trip to Bristol St in Derby

Is there much ? Notice any drips on your drive from when you pull away ? But yeah if you can't see the source of the leak I'd take it in.

To be absolutely sure its your DS3, would suggest sticking a sheet of cardboard down under the engine overnight

I am 99% certain it's mine, but for the avoidance of doubt I'll put some card down tonight. I never thought to do that.

Has anyone else had an oil leak? Was it easily sorted?

IF your car is dropping oil then it;s a case of how long is a piece of string. Oil can seep from so many various things, but advice is be certain that you have a leak by using a piece of large cardboard under the car. Make sure you mark it first with something like 'front' to note the position of the cardboard, that way it makes it easier to figure out where the leak is coming from if you have one.

I had an oil leak on mine in the garage it was dripping on the floor nothing major but when I looked underneath I seen that it had been there for a while. took it to citroen and was told its the electro valve on the back on the engine so they replaced it and it has been fine ever since. if you look underneath and on the drivers side at the back of the oil pan there was loads of oil splash backed around this area. I had a dstyle plus but its going on Tuesday will be sad but cant wait for the GTI 208.

Hi, sorry been busy at work I'm calling Citroen tomorrow. My dad had a quick look underneath and there's a bit of oil from somewhere, he noticed a bigger leak from the water! So need to look at both, hope she's not falling apart

                              Right then, update time.

So firstly the oil, this was coming from nr the filter, somehow it was slowly seeping out, they have replaced the filter and that is fine now, that was only a minor leak they said.

The main problem is the water. I rang up at 4pm yesterday to collect my beauty but was told the water pump is broken and water is just gushing out and she's unsafe to drive! So they have her for today while the fix it and surrounding pipe work.

When I first called to book in I was told last week in may is when they can see it Chris, in my 2nd call I said I'm not happy with that and they said they will squeeze her in. It's a good job I got it sorted now or I could of blown the head gasket :/
