She did indeed :-) I've just been very brave and let my girlfriend who is on a provisional/L-plates drive her on a 40 mile round trip. She did great but it was a bit white knuckle with my new baby!

Gone but not forgotten....replaced by SEAT Ibiza Toca in Black
So what's that little 3 cylinder like? Gissa review!
Not really sure how to review it as I've not driven any of the other engines, and this is my first brand new car. My last car was a 12 year old lime green Vauxhall Tigra so no comparison! The only other decent car I've had was a Clio Campus 1.5 DCi which sounded like a tractor compared to this.
If I were to give immediate pro and con impressions:
Pros:
Looks beautiful
Very quiet when not being pushed
Feel like a big substantial car
Responsive in traffic and on the open road
Very light steering (which I like)
Did I say it looks beautiful
Cons:
Gearshift feels both plasticky to the touch and a little clunky
Seats could have a bit more hug to them - feel I roll in the seat more that the Clio and Tigra
No spare tyre
That's about it really. I suspect all of the above are due to my getting the basic model but hey, I'm still very happy.
Do any cars in the range even come with a spare tyre?
I think the DSport plus I'm getting only has one of those can things.
Really annoys me that they have got rid of proper spare tyres in most cars nowadays
Rant over...
I had my previous landrover only a year due to my water pump having a catastrophic failure and destroying the engine of my tigra. I miss that car, always wanted a convertible and when I finally got one it blew up and the warranty refused to pay. All the memories flooding back because you said tigra, damn you! It was. 1.8 petrol so not sure how it will compare to a 1.6 diesel, guess I will find out soon
But the main thing is to enjoy it and sounds like you are!

My DSport THP155 has a space saver spare and my old DStyle VTI120 had a space saver as well. Think of the can thing as saving weight! I remove my spare when I take mine to the track. I removed the back seats once but it was too much effort to do it again for not much difference in feel with the car although it did make it more playful in the rear with lift-off oversteer
Also to OP, photojonny, nice to have you onboard Just saw your pictures on your other thread. Your DS3 has possibly the BEST plastic hubcap things I've ever seen! I actually thought they were alloys until I looked closely.
