  • Dodgy Central locking???

Anyone else had the following issue??

Today, when locking the car, the indicators flash but no sound of locking. Sure enough the doors were open but the alarm was on as I managed to catch the little scrote about to have it on his toes with my tomtom.

About an hour later, it just repaired itself

    Very strange

    any ideas??

Have you tried switching it off and on again?

umm now i remember something that happened to me. i click it once, mirrors folded in and i opened the door for no reason to find that the alarm went off.

But i may not have been very awake at the time. lol

Been caught out like this twice - both times the rear hatch wasn't shut properly. Iirc, the lights flashed on & off rapidly when I tried to lock it, rather than just doing the single long flash.

On a related point, is there any way of disabling those flashing lights when unlocking? I feel a right prat unlocking the car in busy car-parks, especially at night. It's enough of an attention-grabber as it is, without the free light show.

Guess I must check all the doors are fully closed but as it's only me in the car at anytime, it must be the drivers side

              Cheers

and yeah, the flashing lights are a pain, why can't it beep like in the movies?? or maybe a Gallic hu he hu type noise when you lock it

If you tried to lock your DS3 with one of the doors open you would hear the lock 'bounce' but the lights would still flash. Give it a try so you know what the noise sounds like, handy if you're in a rush and don't have to double check.

                    Guys,

an update to this annoying problem.

The central locking won;t work after an hour or so of driving, the lights flash but the doors don't lock. 1st thing in the morning, no problem but once out and about, no luck.

I have pressed the locking button in the car and can hear the relay in the glovebox area clicking but the doors don't lock or unlock.

Anyone have the same problem or a solution?
