I don't see how a clutch rest would stop somebody from going mad xD

It took me a long time to get it sorted! Even now, I haven't got a completely perfect seating position - on longer drives I have to make a conscious effort to sit well back in the seat to avoid backache after an hour or so.

Ideally, I'd like a little bit more upward adjustment on the seat height (could cause headroom problems!) & a little bit more rearward movement on the steering wheel - I understand that's restricted to prevent drivers sitting too close to the airbag.

OMG I went to Chester last week and stopped over in a premier inn when I woke up in the morning I had a seriously bad back to the point I couldn't walk more than 5 paces , now i'm wondering if it is the car ,i'm always adjusting my seat to get comfy , I have never suffered with back pain and even a week after chester my back is still really stiff .
As for leaning left I find the arm rest invites you to lean ,maybe this combined with seat position could be the cause . going to try various seat positions now to find the best/most comfy that suits .

I've noticed the right of my back is touching the right seat support. Whereas the left of my back is nowhere near the left support. I think its because of the offset pedals

Are your legs the same length? (Apologies if that sounds facetious - its not meant to!)

I can see the logic there. As far as I'm aware they're the same.

Things have improved. I've got the seating position the best its going to be I think. I've found having the armrest down helps - takes some of the pressure off my back and onto the arm. I used to have the armrest up because it gets in the way of the handbrake, but this back issue has forced me to use it and its not so bad once you get used to it.
Also cruise control helps my back when on the motorway. I can move my legs around a bit. Cruise should be standard on every car!

I'm still keen to replace the seats with ones from a DSport, but they are like rocking horse poo! Scoured the internet but I've had no joy.

I struggle with the seats too- after years of DS3s
But its more which lever do I pull, or push, and don't bleeding force it
Those seats have a life of their own- treat with kid gloves
And when they start moving when your driving.....................and then the empty cider cans get wedged under the pedals.........doh!
