Screeeeching drivers window when sunny !

well i hope u enjoyed the bits of sun weve had. lovely. ,but my drivers side window makes a high pitched screach when i open or close it . in cooler weather its fine, what can i to do ?? :confused:

I had exactly the same issue. Didn't really notice it late last year when I got the car but enough was enough and I couldn't stand the screeching anymore. I tried all sorts; a good clean, an IPA wipe, a hydrophobic coating, nothing worked unless it was raining of course.

Solution was to ask my friendly Citroen dealer to have a look whilst it was in having some work done. Hey presto, touch wood not heard a single squeek since. Apparently gave it an oiling (dont't know if they meant the glass or the mechanism).

Thats great thanks at least i know it can b resolved. ( my txt always goes a bit weird sometimes when on my phone, hense the last paragraph lol at least u knew what i meant !!). ill do what u said thanks andy

Hiya, I went to Tates down the road and the service dept was closed but the sales bloke said it probably just needs lubricating, he did then say something could be loose but i agree with what you said and the first thing he said. Anyway ill have to book it in so they can have a look , fingers crossed it gets sorted ! If there had been more sun i would have got is sorted sooner, It was so loud today i deff cant leave it !

It's not only annoying but also embarrassing especially at a drive thru for example. As I said mine was lubricated/greased/oiled a couple of months back and hasn't screeched once since.

I had the same problem on drivers side window went straight to the dealers and it was fixed

C1 was looking for my boy Chris. But ds1 be fun to look at and the ds9 Wen they both come out.

just buy a can of silicone spray and spray in the tracks either side when window is down ,go up and down a few times.

noise gone.

Hey Steve , Bit delayed reply sorry Yeah i must have missed you by literally 10 mins ! if i'd stayed a bit longer looking around i deff would have been there! I just popped in on my way back from Brighton but didnt look around, I havent booked it in yet been too busy but deff will do. I dont want to chance booking it in next week in case theres a delay or something and i havent got her back for the Beachy Head Meet :cool:

Yeah i know what you mean, i have to show my pass to security to get in the gates at work, i normally open the window ( get the thumbs up every day from the security blokes for a great car haaha!) but when the suns out i just show it through the window !!! cant let them know my great car makes that noise eh :rolleyes:
