  • Good bye DS3!

As some of you know my DS3 was having issues with the "super knock" and revs slip since October last year. To date Citroen have spent £4000+ on the following items

    -Inlet manifold spray cleaner
    -Cylinder head off and decoke
    -Timing chain and Guides
    -High Pressure Fuel Pump Replacement
    -Dual Mass Flywheel replacement

Out of all the above only the DMF made a difference which was to fix the revs. The car still had the "super knock" and the rattly sounding engine issue. Last month I had enough when I waited 8 days for them to analyse the latest set of data from my car to be told it needed to come back in but the earliest appointment was 3-4 weeks away! So I managed to get the dealership to purchase the car back off me. I've taken a little hit in cash considering I only managed to put 6k miles on the car but it was worth it to get out of the mess...

Oh and to add to the pain I noticed a week after my car went into them that there was a creese in my passenger door! Tamping I thought someone had hit my car and drove off. I got an expert PDR guy out who identified that someone had already PDR'd the door (done a poor job) and showed me all the evidence of such work had taken place... The only people other than me who had access to my car to undertake such a repair was Citroen! I know there's a no name & shame policy so I will just advise you all to look further than the Cardiff area for an approved Citroen Dealership!

However I now have the below to keep a smile on my face.

Lovely full Recaro leather interior, satnav, 28k on the clock... But most importantly a 5 Cylinder engine which makes the nicest of noises!

So if any of you are in the Cardiff area and are thinking of purchasing FG60 FPF. DONT!

Sorry that CUK didn't sort your issues Dickie, at least they are (hopefully) a thing of the past now...

I'm guessing you used the Evans Halshaw on Hadfield Road ? Shame really - you should have used Thomas & Davies Merthyr as they're great. Hope whatever you've bought treats you good

                  I used Mr.Dent

He was honest in what he could do with the crease as he demonstrated the door has been stretched from the damage it will never be perfect.

He transformed it from quite an indented crease line which casted a horrible shadow in sunlight to just a ripply affect that was only noticeable looking down the panel.
