^ No- Fiesta in some fancy blue that's there lead advert (She no like cars that go that fast)
And that was 18 month later, as the Fiesta was then the new shape
That's your training Cycles- Marvellous  (And your right)
Pretty much always been Fords, me, other than the odd Beamer- too pricey now tho. (Beamers)
I have had several vw golfs mk 2 , mk4, mk 5 , i went to a garage to look at / buy a mk6 golf and noticed a 2011 black special edition ds3 which caught my eye , always like the look of the ds3 but never really never took much notice of them . It was parked next to the mk 6 golf that i went to get i then decided to take the ds3 out on a test drive first before the golf , i was really impressed about the ds3 never bothered test driving the golf , i brought the ds3 has soon has i got back from test drive . had it few weeks now and love it more every time i drive it
REALLY wanted one, loved the looks, test drove brilliant,
THEN read about the engine/bearing/gearbox problems
and gave up on it
Then, saw the DS 155 was up for lease at fair price and
that it had slightly detuned Cooper S lump....OOOH
Little slower than VXR but much more upmarket feel.
Test drove/ordered....bosh.
THENNNNN, joined here and read about 150 problems
Just praying that the newer/155's are.....OK???????
When the choice of getting a new car came up my first thought was a Renault Clio, I owned a 51 plate 1.2 dynamique and I loved it and I've always fancied the Clio 172 cup but they've messed around so much with look of it and the new one isn't that bad and I've looked at Audi A2 TDi sport which I owned for a short while it was a fantastic little car dirt cheep to run and dead easy to drive only issue is if anything goes wrong no one will touch it because of the all aluminium frame and body so it had to go, on to a 2006 Seat Ibiza 1.4 sport reliable but very very boring but from the launch of the DS3 I've always thought its one of the best looking cars at present so the time came so I went all out and got the DS3 DSport Plus 155THP full leather arm rest and I got to choose the colour scheme, cherry red and onyx black roof nice big 17" wheels and a pocket rocket ! Love it best choose of cars I've made since 1995 when I got my first car.
2013 DS3 DSport Plus 155 THP Cherry Red & Black Roof
I was looking at the Peugeot 208 range but was really interested in the GTI (local dealer didn't have for me to test ) so I said i'll come back in a couple of days to see if they had one in , when we (the wife and I) passed our local citroen dealer the next day , the wife pointed out the DS3 on the forecourt and said "oooh I like that one " so we stopped off to take a look arranged a test drive and you guys can probably guess the rest , Oooooooosh I got the DS3 and I gave the wife my 307cc , fair trade i'd say
Needing to get rid of my Alfa 147 because of a severe case of swine fever (I was pig sick of the pile of crap!) I was looking for something used of a similar size. Looking at the used car market was depressing – plenty of low-spec cars in dull boring colours, but very little that really excited me.
After a lot of research we narrowed it down to a Honda Civic or a Volvo C30. Actually having a look at a Civic killed that one very quickly - my wife just sat in it saying “no. . . no . . . no . . .”. Din’t even bother with a test drive. Being different if great – if it’s actually better. Not a lot of C30s around & most of them that were were either 1.6s or high-mileage diesels. I’m still not sure on the looks of the C30 – sometimes I like them, sometimes I don’t.
Looking at new car prices I realised that if I dropped down a car size I could probably afford new. But what? Alfa MiTo? Never again. MINI? Obscenely ugly. DS3? Never had a Citroen, but had a couple of Peugeots which were great cars . . . Citroens are really Peugeots, aren’t they?
We decided to take a trip to our nearest Citroen dealer, Stoneacre, Hyde, just to have a look at the DS3. Walked into the showroom, were greeted with a smile by the receptionist who pointed us in the direction of a DS3. After we’d poked around it for a few minutes one of the salesmen came over & asked if we’d test driven one; I replied that we hadn’t really intended to at the moment, but he said it would be no problem, so we did. I think we more or less decided to buy one there & then, but we did take a few days to think about it. The whole deal was done efficiently & quickly & the aftersales service has been faultless – a breath of fresh air after dealing with Mangoletsi!
In real terms the DS3’s as roomy as the 147 – the boot’s slightly bigger & as we never use them less space in the back seats just isn’t a problem; quality-wise it’s light years ahead! ,I did wonder about waiting for an Audi A1, but a quick run through their configurator showed that, apart from totally lacking any trace of style it’s also overpriced.
Interesting to read what cars we all seem to be drawn to... I've owned an R50 Mini Cooper for the past 3 years and to be honest I've never been able to look at another car in the same way. Interior dreariness of VW's really let down the appeal. I was tempted for another Mini Cooper S facelift or perhaps even a JCW GP but having experienced nothing but problems, and poor support from Mini customer service pushed me away.
Its been a long year really looking around at cars to try and find something that took my fancy.
I liked the look of the occasional Fiat 500, test drove an abarth which was very fun and a close second to the DS3 but its practicality and harsh ride would get old quick.
I took a look at an Adam but the power delivery was boring in the 87bhp petrol and I didn't think the 100bhp model would be much better, again I wasn't totally sold on the styling and it was just too small inside.
Leon FR's/Ibizas but again the interior is extremely ugly .
Now since I laid my eyes upon the first DS3's I really liked the styling of some and despised the elderly look that some of the oldies tend to go for lol. But now I love almost all of them, even those for the elderly on motability .
Today I ended up finally getting the keys to my 2012 (61) White 92hp airdream with black roof after originally test driving a THP 150. The drive is great although my boyfriend found wearing shorts and leaning his left leg on the glossy trim was a little sweaty. The features are great and I was amazed to see my wing mirrors fold when locked as I wasn't aware it was included. Free tax, managed 74.2mpg easy enough after figuring out where the peak torque lies and it pulls great up to 70 no problems .
I have to congratulate Citroen on drawing us away from other manufacturers and so called "BMW" quality which is non existent across the Mini range it seems!
