I think in summary we all need to be careful when using our knobs on hot days to avoid hurting our hands.... I think I'd use a cloth to put over the knob when I'm not using it....

I know the feeling of that hot gear stick knob alright, the wheel gets pretty hot to!

Can anyone say where exactly the reading for the outdoor temperature sensor is? Seems to be reading about 3-4 degrees hotter than it actually is... I hope.

In previous cars I had the temp sensor was behind the front bumper to avoid the affects of the air rushing over it, not sure where it is on the DS3 though.

As for the temperature it shows I think it's affected by where you park the car as well, when I park it at work the car park is either tarmac or concrete and that holds a lot of heat which affects the air temperature around the car. I think temps you see on weather forecasts are normally taken in the shade or at least out of direct sunlight which might account for the discrepancies

Outdoor temp sensor is that little, dare I say, knob on the bottom of the outside rear view mirror.

Oh is it ? I wondered what that was ? That knob was too small until I ran my hand across it when soaping it and then it seemed much bigger....
