Have you tried adrian flux? you have to ring for a quote.

Think there are other car mod friendly insurance companies, but you have to find them....

£50 extra to what i was paying when i got my 150 remapped, (Admiral)and sportscat/ exhaust fitted to give 194 BHP. Couple years ago.
Think it was a box that you ticked saying remapped to 25% extra
Replacement of exhaust wasnt covered tho- that would have been more. Admitted everything id modified, even wheels- not worth the risk.

However- got a right shock when i asked my original insurer- Kwik fit i think it was.
Had the remap done the day before, and they wanted Hundreds extra, so i said would take the map off

Ed- sorry- just realised i mentioned half of this earlier in thread. My excuse is it was 8 month ago

It's crazy the level of extortion car insurers go to.

I rang my insurance provider for the bike last week to inform them I'd modified the exhaust. Couple of minutes on hold whilst they put me through to the correct department.

"That's all been sorted for you. I've added a note to your account to say you've modified the exhaust on your bike. Just so you're aware we'll insure any additional modifications up to the value of £500 but would ask that you call us to make us aware of any changes so that we can note this on our systems."

No additional fee, no excess, no hike in premiums.

            Exactly how it should be.

It's a shame you can't declare them and not have them insured, say I upgraded my alloys and they got destroyed in a crash, just pay the amount for the original.

I imagine you'd be given the line, 'modifying the alloys has the potential to increase the likelihood of the car being stolen. That'll be an additional £20/mnth please!"

                  I guess -.-

I think America's insurance method is better.

Greenlight don't charge you to modify, performance wise or visually! No premium increase or handling fee.

                    Thanks
