  • Can't be TOO worried about thp engines ??

If Citroen are still putting the 155 thp in their new cars, and
the 200 thp in the DS4/ DS5 and proposed (?) Racing Cabrio
then they can't think there's TOO much wrong with the lump...
.........or are they sponsored by the recovery services ???????

I think the racing had too much power for the cylinder head specifically around cylinder 2 as that seems to be the most common one.

If the block its self was a fault they would not continue using it across the rest of its range including things like the new C4 Picasso

I can't see the racing having to much power for the cylinder heads on the THP, I know people running over 250bhp with this engine in the 207 GTI without cylinder head trouble.
2012 Dsport +, white with black roof. Stubby aerial, Alloy DS3 tax disc holder, Alloy black and silver dustcaps and 3D Gel carbon affect plates. Now with kawasaki green painted brakes.

I think they are just using crap pistons. Well not crap but unsuited for that power level when the engine is not running perfect because of the other problems the engine has.

My 2nd Mini was a 56 Cooper S, and after the experience with the timing chain in that vehicle ( replaced TWICE within 55,000 miles ) there was no way I'd even consider the THP engine. Supposedly post 2011 engines are better, but reading about timing chain issues even now with the THP / N18 I decided to give it a miss
