Good spot!
Does look awesome!
Verdict
Although the DS3 is now a familiar sight on UK roads, that doesn’t stop it from being a great car – and a very tempting second-hand buy. Firm used prices mean you’ll have to dig a bit deeper than you normally might for a pre-loved Citroen – yet in return you’re getting one of the finest models the French company has produced in years. However, while the DS3 is a great car in many ways, our Driver Power reliability and owner satisfaction survey shows there’s room for improvement with the build quality, which is why you must check any potential purchase carefully.
Recalls
It's hardly confidence-inspiring that Citroen has already issued a huge 14 recalls for the DS3. There were four in 2010, four in 2011 and six last year. Five were due to a too-short battery cable potentially leading to engine cut-outs. Others have catered for fuel leaks, the bonnet not latching properly and engine failure. The front axle can also work loose, driveshafts can fail and airbags may not deploy correctly. The anti-lock brakes and electronic stability programme may not work properly, either.
Driver Power
Our view
The DS3 debuted in this year’s Driver Power survey, in 36th place. Owners love the low running costs, handling and tech; performance and braking are strong points, too. But the practicality and ride quality aren’t so popular, while 95th for build quality is worrying.
Your view
Clive Pepper from Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, owns the DS3 pictured. He says: “The car is fun to drive, with a responsive engine and a great design. But my model suffers from squeaks and a false engine fault code.

Would have be good to have pointed out that most recalls only applied to certain VIN batches and NOT the entire range but as I said before Motor Journalists never know what their are talking about....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

^ You hit the nail on the head there, a review. It's not really a guide, maybe we should do one ourselves....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!
