Are there any British mass produced car makers left? Thought that they were all foreign owned now.

If its the same bit I think your on about - it said the the clutch for the DS3 WRC is British
I completely forgot about the WRC, I had the Milton Keynes bit in mind when I started this thread.

Also was just a car on the road driven by a random it wasn't featured as a British car it was just on the road at the time
I did think that at first, but then I thought of it as a producer. You've got the road closed and you're doing a feature on British engineering... including a French car without a purpose would make no sense at all!

I guess you can include me in the list of people who didn't know that the DS3 was designed by a Brit.

The new RR Sport was amazing. Made my toes curl though when Hamster came out of the water and scraped its sill on that tree stump. Ouch!!!

4x4's are deployed like Nuclear weapons by school run mums who should know better...

They are great for carting my dogs about and literally going across country - 'Clive, no, school runs only - using them for what they were meant for is banned!' - seriously my labs can't go in my DS3 ever, but my 4x4 is ideal!

Most 'school Mums' don't have a clue how to drive them, I've gone up and down completely muddy slippery slopes at steep angles with the dogs bouncing in the back, most 'school Mums' wouldn't have a clue how to use them off-road!

                      Regards,
                      Clive.

ps my favourite off-road ever I think was when the water was getting up towards the windows, I was praying the air intake in the engine would stay above water level!

I agree with Clive said that with 4x4 being used with the purpose in mind for what they were built for, it's the luxury barge bit I could never fathom...!

That was a well-researched item, wasn't it, a comprehensive review of all the companies building cars in the UK.

I must have missed the news items about Vauxhall ceasing car production at Ellesmere Port & van production at Luton . . .
