Knob!

Ok... Not quite as abusive as it sounds and I'm not going going down the 'pulling on my knob' route, but..... How the bloody hell do I get my gear knob off? Also, if I do, can it go back on easily and finally can I push down or move the gaiter cover?
All or any help welcomed and all may be revealed at Trax!

Pull it upwards hard and off it comes
Just pushes back on.
Gaiter can be squeezed and worked out of it's "socket."

Well, I'm not saying anything as yet as im certain it won't work and I'll be disappointed.
Also I've been told to add, the wife doesn't approve and sees it as pointless as she thinks it ruins the look!
