  • National Mileage Register. HPI check

    Morning .
This isn't strictly DS3 related but wondered if anyone else has heard from this Company ?
Got letter today about the C4Cachet I parted with to get Belle in Nov last year asking for mileage details etc.
    Thanx

Hi n Thank You. It looks like same company n gives www.hpicheck.com/nmr to update online or can fill in back of letter n send in prepaid envelope . I'm a bit worried now tbh, never had a letter like this n had lots of cars in 35 years of full clean licence (oops showing age now lol) .

Looks like they are trying to get more data on used cars so that they can sell themselves to Motor Traders etc

Thanx again reading the letter n bit they want me to fill in I'm wondering if somebody's suspicious on mileage of her ? She was a low mileage when I parted with her , Belles only got 3200 approx , tho I'm not sure on actual figure .

Yeah could be, maybe the dealer that ended up with the car wants to double check, a few years back when I bought a second hand car the dealer handed over a HPI history check with the papers etc

Nothing to worry about, the VMC is a recognised group which motor traders use to verify mileage on cars. By law every car should have a mileage check but in some cases there may be a bit of a discrepancy which needs to be checked, hence the letter.

Sometimes the mileage gets entered wrong during an MOT, once had a car which had appeared to have cover an extra million miles between MOT's!

Currently, few sites offer vehicle checks with comprehensive reports at a low price and with subscription plans. By ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy and safe, the customer will benefit more
