Yeah I know Can't decide whether the current tyre will be ok (has been before I knew it had a nail in it) until Thursday or whether I pop the space save spare on and restrict myself to limited mph until the new tyre is fitted on Thursday, will check the pressure again tonight and make a decision I think.

Why get a new tyre rather than have it plugged?

Superfly ...... he said it was in the outside edge, which normally means they can't repair it.

Must be the season for nails in tyres as I had one in van tyre this morning (had it plugged as it was in the centre).

Kk, didn't realise that, bit of bad luck having one there.

I don't think it's down to the wheels having been switched round as, judging from the tyre wear, they are still in their original positions. I'm sure they are on the original side, as when it's been parked in the sun in temperatures in the high 20s the "sunny" side pressures have been higher.

Our luggage is in the boot, or trunk as they call it around here . . . my doesn't travel light!

                Hi

Re the question above, the nail is approx 1cm from the edge of the tyre and no reputable tyre place will repair it My Citroen dealer told me that it could be sent off for a specialist repair but it would mean running around on the small spare tyre for several weeks and they didn't think it was much cheaper than a new tyre.

So off to get a new Michelin on Thursday
