  • Auto light sensor

Can anyone tell me where the auto light sensor is?? Is it on the same panel for the auto wipers??

Driving to work this morning in brilliant sunshine and my lights were still on full. I was thinking as it's cold in the mornings that the sensor may have condensation on it and just needs a wipe in the morning but not sure where to find it???

The little bump on the dash just behind the windscreen between the vent outlets.

I too have noticed this to but on wet conditions i think there maybe a default to turn the lights on. yesterday it was bright during the day but some patchy rain, yet my DRLs were off and main lights on.

The light sensor is part of the ring that is on the windscreen in front of the mounting for the rear view mirror. Remember that even if it is bright sunshine if you have your wipers on the lights with also be on.

ahhhhh....maybe that's why! I wiped once when I first got in the car and then they stayed on auto so maybe that's why my lights were on?

where the light switch is on the indicator stalk there is a setting called Auto.

Not so sure this is correct now. Put my wipers on yesterday on the way home from work but lights definitely stayed off. Left wipers on auto, went through a tunnel and lights came on but leaving the tunnel the lights switched off again!!

If the wipers pulse into intermittent speed then the lights will come on.
