  • Servicing and Service Assistance Pack

    Good Afternoon Everyone,

Firstly I am a heavy mileage user doing approximately 25000 miles per year in my DS3. My car is 1 year old this month and today It had its second service at 25000 miles by Citroen.

I notice that my Free Servicing provided on my Elect 3 PCP only covers me to 35,000 miles of free servicing, yet the next service will be due at 37,000 miles. I
assume this means the next service will come out of my pocket rather than Citroen?

Secondly as I know you are all very helpful, I have two years with my car left as it will be handed back/traded in at the three year mark with approx 75K on the
clock, does anyone know what options are available to me regarding service packs? am I better off just paying for my services as I go along, or entering into some kind of serivce plan/contract where I pay a fixed amount per month/up front?

Are these led by Citroen UK, or dealer specific?

I have asked my current dealer both questions but unfortunately as of today they were unable to answer me?

If anyone has any advice or comments I would welcome them?

On a side note, this is a fantastic forum full of some very helpful nice people, I am hoping that the DS3 club organise some meets around the Midlands/Northampotn/Milton Keynes area as it would be nice to see some fellow DS3 people.

    Many Thanks

    Rich

You will miss out on the last service with your plan as you will not have done 12 months between those services and at 35,000 it will be far too early for the 37,500.

Your best bet is next time to look at the Freedrive contract as this may be a little more suited to you as you can add full service costs and tyres. The other option is to go again with the free service plan knowing that you will need to pay for the other services you will need as you go.

If your dealer is puzzled then tell them that the Freedrive contacts are found on Encore, but I don't think you can enter one now with your current car

By the way if it was me that was your dealer I would have placed you onto a 24 term PCP or better a Contract Hire. Would be better suited for you as you are a high mileage driver.

          Bigfeet,

thank you very much for your reply. I wasn't aware of the scheme you mentioned, I was up front from the start and said I am a heavy business user and intend to trade in after my contract is up. I get an allowance from work to spend on a car of my choice for use with my job.

so from what you said It sounds like I cant re invest in any kind of service plan and will be stuck with paying for each service?

when my contract is up I will be doing some more research next time!

            Bigfeet,

I think I may have misunderstood you From what I read Freedrive is a bolt on servicing and maintenance contract that can include wear and tear items, is that correct?

That's right, Freedrive is tailored to match your requirements so you can included everything or just servicing.

For heavy use I would still recommend you look at a Contract Hire with the maintenance package added. That way you costs are fixed for the term and the car should never cost you any extra.
