  • Ideas for my new DS3 :)

    Hi all,

My DS3 Hdi (115) arrives on Thursday (sooo excited) and I have been browsing on here for a bit of inspiration.

Just looking for some ideas of little bits and pieces I can buy like upgrade lights etc

Can anyone give me some help on possible ways to squeeze a few extra BHP out of the diesel unit without voiding the warranty as it is a brand new car

I'm no big expert on cars but was hoping there may be a few ways to make it run a little bit healthier..

    Thanks!

    Jack.

      Hi

I have the same car and to be honest the torque and acceleration are very good for a 1.6 diesel, as for modding within warranty I'm not sure there is much you can do, some people change the air filters for performance ones, not sure you get much gain in bhp though, possibly 1-2 bhp ?

The biggest gains are made via an engine remap but that will definitely void your warranty, probably the easiest thing to supposedly improve the health of your car would be to use the better diesel like Shell V Power Nitro or similar. I have filled up with this stuff the last 4 fills and whilst I don't think there are any performance gains it may be a little bit smoother now

Thanks What kind off accessories are popular? Do you sell the really bright bulb replacements? and silver indicator bulbs? Also could anyone tell me how easy they are to replace?

I came from and Astra Sri 1.9 CDTi and much prefer the DS3, smaller more nimble but still plenty exciting when you push the right pedal down ! The mpg is much better and free road tax to boot !

The bulbs are really easy to change....

We are currently in the process of getting cheap bulbs like these as well as gaining cheaper accessories for the DS3's. The most popular items we sell are:

              Aluminium foot rest

We also sell quite afew mudflaps and the chrome trims. Ignore the prices on there as DS3 members get discounts

Aidan, a little off topic but are you able to supply new key fobs?

My dad borrowed my car, and pushed the silver bit of the key back into the black bit, without holding down the button if that makes sense, now the whole key is loose and it flops when I place it in the ignition.

                What would you suggest?

I think someone had a problem with his folding key a while back, maybe something to do with the spring and posted a bit about it, can't see it in the Similar Threads below though

Key fobs are quite expensive I would try taking it apart. This vid was posted long ago. It is a different key but the flip mechanism would be the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNJIlTetgUA

Zack, I can't find your thread any chance of a link?
                        Thanks
