@Zack - really??? I bought a Billy bookcase from Ikea last week which was 202cm tall and I had to balance it precariously on the back of the front passenge headrest as the front seat does not fold forward or back far enough to easily fit the box (in my peugeot 206 this sort of thing was a breeze as you could fully recline the seats).
Sadly my one gripe with the DS3 has been the ease of transport of large items such as this - I do a lot of home and garden DIY and was in the habit of chucking big bits of wood/bags of compost/flat packs in the 206 - guess I need to treat the DS3 with a bit more respect!

Can't you just rent a van for half a day?

The local place near me to half day rentals on a transit for £25. Problem solved.

I tried removing the headrest, but still couldn't get it flat enough to allow the box to go over the top - so pulled it as far forward as it would go and then folded the seat forward and balanced the box on the back - only just had space between the roof/windscreen for the leading edge of the box and it was as far back in the boot as it would go!
Suspect that the van rental or home delivery will be the norm in future - which is a bit annoying as it is extra cash and needs more forward planning than usually allowed for by my spontanious DIY fancies!!

                      Easily!

I've picked up a billy book case up.

Back seats down, headrest off the passenger seat and recline all the way back.

                      Width: 80 cm
                      Depth: 28 cm
                      Height: 202 cm
