  • Devastated!!

    Hi guys,

    Devastated is an understatement.

So traffic was heavy and I decided to take the country roads to work yesterday. Coming down a hill at approx 40mph (national speed limit roads) a dear ran out in front of me, I slammed on the brakes and locked up hitting it at around 30mph+.

The dear got up and ran off but now my DS3 sport 1.6 petrol 155bhp is in bad shape.

I took to a specialist near me this morning and will give me a quote on Monday.

    I think I will need:
    intercooler
    2 x fans
    2 x radiators
an arm which connects to the fans?
the plastic mesh on the front of the car and the chrome surround?

I don't know how to post a pic so I can email to someone if they can then post for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and where to source the parts.

I'm not in a position to claim from insurance but it could be £1000 plus in parts and labour.

I'm kind of confident would I be able to do it myself if I sourced the parts? I'm not sure until the bumper comes off how much damage I have actually done. Want to cry

    Thanks, Caro.

    Do you have it ?

But yeah all that sounds expensive. If you had it from a Citroen dealer I'm guessing well over £1000

      Really sorry to hear that

Joni posted a guide on how to post full size images on the forum here -http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread.php?1932-How-to-insert-full-size-images hopefully that will help.

As for sourcing the parts I would contact Aidan (forum member) from Partsworld-UK who can get cheaper official Citroen parts, his number is 01246 268896 and their website is http://www.partsworld-uk.com/categor...y=FeaturedDesc

Aidan has helped out a fair few of us with parts at good prices

Thank you for the replies ... Until my local place will give me an itemised list on Monday I'm not entirely sure what I will need.

I've got the money for the repair just means no holiday for me this year. My excess is £750 so IF the repair is £1,000 odd then I'm only going to be saving £250/£300 and my premium would increase by that amount id imagine plus I don't want to lose my no claims bonus.

I think it will be hard to find the same car as mine being broken but would all the fans/intercooler from a diesel car be ok? Plenty of 105bhp cars being broken.

Thank you for easy to use guide - please see attached photo I will add more when I take the front bumper off.

I had a wild pig run out in front of me when I was driving my old car (hyundai Coupe) and it took my bumper out completely! I would be very surprised if your repair only came to £1000!
