  • Full tank range on 1.6 hdi

    Hi all,

My DS3 1.6 e-hdi dsport 115 arrived Wednesday! Yay very exciting (will get pictures up this weekend).

Now, I just filled it up which cost me around £60 as the fuel light had only just come on.

The issue is the range on the trip computer is showing 425.. But I thought this car would return more towards the 600 mark?? Can anyone explain

    Thanks

    Jack

Don't worry that range figure will adjust as you drive and it re-works out the mpg Mine usually starts at around 475 and then I normally get 550 on a normal run. I can get just over 600 miles when I do nearly all motorway driving.

I would get more but I like the AC on Auto all the time and that will have a small effect on mpg

As above, the last time I filled up cost £53 once the fuel light came on at 48 miles. I drove it quite nicely with a mixture of motorway and twisty B roads and I got about 480 miles out of it before the fuel light came back on. Wait till you get it on the twisties, soooooo much fun, these things defy the laws of physics going round corners! Lol :-)

As others have said, the range is calculated from your average mpg (how heavy footed you are) over the last few miles. I'm not sure the exact number it calculates from but I've had my range on a full tank vary from 300 to 550 miles on my THP, depending on how economical I've been driving.

        Looking forward to pics

          Thanks for replying everyone!
Well I guess that does make sense I'm a bugger for being heavy footed!
          Love the car!
Will get pics up over the weekend

First things first, reset the counter if the car has only just arrived as it will be working form numbers set while the car was being PDI's and moved about the dealership.

Press the button until you have either bank 1 or bank 2 on display and then press and hold the button down for at least three seconds. Now the data the car collected will be purely from your input only.
