I'm assuming the DS3's British designer Mark Lloyd had nothing to do with this facelift?

It's just a magazine's fantasy; the real thing will probably look nothing like that.

So there is not and have never been any good looking American cars?

I'm really not a fan of this.

The current front end is perfect. .

I disagree, its the weakest aspect of the car in my view, it needs to look a little beefier. The back looks awesome, the side very arty, the front looks a bit ordinary (the running lights are good but everybody has them now).

I think the DS3 is the only car (?) with the DRL's separate ie not wrapped around the headlights, which makes the proposed design more ordinary.

The unique shark fin looks like it is changed to just a pillar which is a bad update too.

Mercedes & Porsches, among others, also have the DRL's separate from the headlights. (Edit: did you mean the only Citroen?).

Cars can look very different in the flesh, ive just had a look at a C4 Aircross up close and its a great looking car.
