Back off to Triple R tomorrow to help make the moulds. I was asked if I want to get my hands dirty and actually help....so please dont blame me when your splitter falls off! Only joking, but I am actually helping on this one!!

So at not much after 7am, I arrived at Triple R for my second visit and to actually prepare 'the splitter'!

When leaving we had to have the mock mdf/filler version finished for the moulds....

...and we did! We changed the design slightly, cut a lot of wood, sanded even more, got the filler done and hardened and came up with, what I think, looks pretty damn awesome!!

The way this has to bolt on the car means the physical splitter looks rather small. In fact, Kev said it's the smallest he's ever developed but he also agreed it looks rather good on the car even as an mdf version!

Making it in this way will mean it doesn't sit too low but to create an even stronger hold a second piece of fibreglass will come supplied with splitter to sit behind the existing rubber strip to clasp and bolt together.

The cost fully delivered for the splitter will be £85 but this could reduce by a few pounds but will not exceed this. To have it fitted will cost £15 but you will also save the delivery charge of £15 so remains at £85. Finally if you collect and fit yourself, it will be £70 max.

We should have a wait of a month for the first ones to come off production lines but I will have regular updates because Kev has a couple of other new splitters already on the go and also he is moving into larger premesis next door!

so how/where will the splitter bolt on too? Bumper or Original splitter. just the new one looks very flat compared to other makes that have raised sections for fitting to the bumper.

There will a slight raised bit in the very middle but it has a nice curve through the 90. from being flat to the existing rubber strip.

Essentially there is nothing under the car to bolt up in to. Because of this, the only way to ensure a good strong fit is for it to sit over and bolt into (and right through) the rubber strip.

There will be bolts at the side and then under the extra little lump in the middle. Looks very need and tidy and doesn't stick right out loads and look silly. Very classy.
