Introduction of new Whisper Purple body colour

Citroen have announce the availability of a new metallic paint option on DS3 from November production. This new deep purple metallic body colour showcases DS3 in a different light and can be made to reflect any individual’s taste with the choice of three roof colours on DS3. Customers can go even further with the different choices of alloy wheel styles. Whisper Purple body colour is available on DS3 Line with White, Black and Moondust Grey roof on DStyle and DSport versions.

Specification and code change on alloy wheels

From November, 17” ‘Bellone’ Original alloy wheels (currently optional on DStyle and DStyle Plus and a no cost option on DSport and DSport Plus versions) will be painted Moondust Grey and diamond cut giving a cleaner outside edge to the alloy. The edge of the alloy will be the same as the 17” ‘Bellone’ Black or White alloys.

    Miscellaneous Changes
Also coming with November production are the following miscellaneous changes:
    • The “OIL OK” light that displays within the dials has been removed from diesel versions.
    • An airbag safety sticker is added to the passenger sun visor

            We've already ordered a couple.

You can see the colour on the French Configurator.

Because you should be checking the oil yourself and not relying on a little light.

*Of course there is no way Citroen would be penny counting at all!

You are quite right, of course, but I rather like the extra reassurance of the "Oil OK" each time I switch on as well as my weekly dipstick check.

I've always wondered about the cost effectiveness of having such small variations between models. I mean, really, does the tiny saving from not including an "Oil OK" light on some models warrant the extra complication and cost of the difference between the models?

Was it only on Diesels then ? If not why remove it just from diesel models ?

No, it's on petrol models as well.

Apparently Minis don't have an oil level warning light; they have also had quite a few engine failures caused by low oil!
