My colleague used to have one, whilst she loved it she did it always refer to it as the 'not quite a Porsche' Boxster.... This goes back to the point that it's not the same as 911 etc

I seem to remember discussing this with a school friend when his dad bought his mum a 'Porsche 924' Martini that looked like a Renault Fuego....

    Porsche

    Renault

So Porsche have history with this....

ok lets talk about erm......... BMW & see who we can get to bite hehe

mark u missing the point here
all Zack is pointing out is if you have a Boxter say you have a boxter and not just a porche
hence why we are saying someone with an Audi A3 or an A class merc shouldnt try slagging any other cars as they are more or less the low class of thier breed
they think because its an AUDI and a MERC they can slag other car makes such as DS3
i dont think Zack was trying to say Boxters are crap far from it

Dude Get A Grip his point was that your boxster along with the A3 and AClass are all the cheapest cars that those respective companies sell. DS3 is not Citroens bottom of the line car. They are all OK cars for what it's worth.

BOY RACER (not saying every A3 driver is a young driver AHEM)
Merc A class is for older ppl who cant afford the bigger luxury mercs but just want to say "HEY I DRIVE A MERC"

now so called chavs couldnt afford a brand new car, they go for like your 10+ years old cars like Golf GTI or peugeot something kinda sporty UNLESS they steal them for joy rides

Tell them they got hairdresser cars that will piss them off lol
I have just bought at same time as DS a new 350GL which cost £75k and we have a 320 SL which cost £80 but I love driving my DS, dropped my wife off for a night out with girls last night in Ds, first time shes bean in it, got to be a pun their"in it" and she liked it, I love it, came from a Clio197 and a Golf mk5 R32 before that, but the DS is my favourite.:Joni:

Luv our DS to bitz - comfortable, great looking little car, fantastic low running costs, wouldnt change it for owt else regardless of performance... we had a VX Astra VXR before the DS - not comfortable, fuel guzzling, expensive running costs - but fast as Fxxk - give me a DS3 anyday:cool:

Mark, I think you need to go out and test drive some cars. True I've never owned one but infact I've been unlucky enough to have driven both the older 2.7 and the newer 2.9 versions of the Boxster. After also being lucky enough driving various versions of the 911 (Turbo + Non-Turbo from the older 964 up to the 996 and 997) the Boxster doesn't even come close. Lots will say it's essentially the same as the higher-end models but honestly they feel like their missing the Porsche personality and what the Porsche driving experience is all about. If I was an owner I know I'd be gutted every time I saw a real Porsche knowing that I skimped out. No excuse whether someone buys a new or an older pre-owned one, as there's some amazing 2nd hand 996 and 997's out there that you could get for the same price or cheaper.

Not that I have a problems with Boxster owners - it just proves that they don't know much about cars, I didn't know much about them when I was 9 or 10 either, but it's ok - they're probably just late bloomers. Deep down they know it too, that's why they never say 'I drive a Boxster', it's always 'I Drive a Porsche' or 'I'm a Porsche owner'. There's such better cars on the market too such as Z4 M Roadster, S2000, Merc SL which are all leaps and bounds over the Boxster.

In your case you've bought a DS3 which was a good decision - well done you x

Brand ignorance is bliss in some peoples eyes...
The whole brand ignorance thing really frustrates me.

Tell people you drive a Citroen and they probably won't care.

Show them a picture of your car and they'll love it.

Show them some of the Citroen concept cars and they'll be left wondering why they always turned a blind eye to the brand.

                        ^

I wish I could find this article done in a motoring magazine where members of the public where given pieces of the interiors of a group of cars and asked to identify which brand made the plastic. They where given the list of marques which the bits from but none of them could correctly work out which bit come from where!
