  • Wind Noise

First thread didn't take long - just come back from the supermarket in the wife's DS3, don't usually travel in the passenger seat, but when she was doing about 50mph there was an appreciable wind noise, maybe from the door mirror? - the window was right up, is the noise generic or do we have a problem

Citroen sell wind deflectors for the DS3 that simply mount inside the upper edge of your window frame.

Maybe these might be worth a shot?

Mmm I don't have wind noise noticeable in the car unless the window is down.

I assume you've checked the door seals for any cuts or problems ?

There was a similar thread linked at the bottom of the page - http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread....passenger-side

      Some suggestions above might help

Thanks for the quick replies, her indoors has the car with her at the Hairdressers at the moment, I'll check the seals etc when she gets back (I've sent a pm to the above thread in the meantime)

I have the same issue, It's always on the passenger side. Cut along story short i had some work done on that side so i just assumed it was something from then. Been thinking of having it booked in our workshop to have it looked at.

Now this is weird, the wife was driving today, she mentioned the wind noise and I thought" I'll open the window, and then re-close it" when I put my finger on the passenger door control the window dropped about 2 mm and the noise stopped - go figure!

the only thing I can think is that the widow is closing too far and pushing the seal open?

Just for info ( and anyone else with the same problem) took the car into the local main stealer - they found that the trim between the main window and the fixed quarter light was loose, when pushed back in the noise stopped. Got it booked in to be fixed, hope their hourly charge is less than Audi's!

Problem solved, cost less than £50 and they even replaced a bolt and captive nut on my front valence/wheelarch for free! Wests of Bedford (Clapham) have seriously impressed me with their customer service

Which trim? i might have to investigate, like i say I've had work done to that side and that part of the car in particular and the lad who did it might have knocked it. loose.

The front valence bolts onto the wheel arch (metal part) at its extreme end, there is a captive nut in the wheel arch and a torque headed bolt screws into it via the front valence - hope this helps

Sorry, didn't read your post - the trim which was causing the wind noise was the interior window trim between the window (which opens) and the pillar between that and the fixed quarter light, cleaning the trim and the pillar then refitting the seal cured the problem
