Also can't agree, i notice about 5mpg drop with it on Auto, i've done 30500 miles since March so that would add up to quite a bit i would think, i do use Auto sometimes, when needed, like hot days, or to demist.

I noticed this the other day too but since the temp dropped I've had mine on most of the journey.

Not strictly related to this particular pain in the a** but also a lighting issue I had the other day. The headlights.. how the hell do you turn those off completely with the engine on?

I was at a drive in cinema and I flicked through all the settings on the stalk but they just went through the usual LED, dip, auto etc. I had to turn off the engine to stop the people in front being blinded. Even then Citroen made my life difficult by making the radio turn off automatically which meant I had to keep restarting the engine every half hour or so.. still at least I wasn't sat with the four blokes in a saxo parked next to me.

Gues u talking about your DRL lights well you can turn them on or off through your radio

Press "menu" then scroll down to "Vehicle config", press "OK" then scroll down to "day lamps" & use the left or right arrows to change them to "active", "OK" that & the job's done.

            I reiterate...Always leave it on
            That's what its designed for.
Modern aircon units do not give significant increases in fuel consumption
They can also fail if left off for long periods or turned on and off periodically
However....your choice...I know what to do with ours

Well I would leave it on all the time but I still have to mess with it. I put it on 22 and it gets a bit too warm, put it on 21.5 and it's ok for a while but then I might want to warm up a bit more so put it up to 23...so, don't really see the point if I have to keep adjusting it might as well just use the heater....plus can only run it with air con on and I too have experimented. When the air CC is on perm I use an extra quarter of a tank a week in fuel

My temp setting varies between 16 in the summer and 24 in the winter, I usually set it when I start my journey and then ignore it unless I become too hot or cold. No point in changing it all the time as it still takes a few mins to get to temp when you change it.

I find it very hard to believe that you use an extra quarter tank of fuel. I've managed 55MPG from a petrol THP155 with the A/C on Auto for the entire time, I imagine a diesel would get much higher.

If you're that bothered about fuel cost, leaving it on Auto and changing your driving style slightly will have a much larger effect on your fuel consumption and your wallet. You'll also be a much more comfortable temperature

OMG.......There is no way that you use a 1/4 of a tank a week more by having CC turned on!! How ridiculous!!

I agree, with aircon off I saw 56mpg, with air con on i saw 63 mpg; same journey, different traffic.
Air con seems insignificant to the mpg figures to my DS3 compared to the variation of the impact from changing traffic conditions.

That said, there is a noticeable improvement to the power when the air-con is switched off

ok.....I'm lying. That's what the fuel gauge told me the week I tested it, maybe I did a few extra miles but it wouldn't have been many

Other than for demisting first thing in the morning:

Windows open an inch, and in the winter, heater with circulating fan on

                            Toasty and clear windows

Back to the lighting issue have you tried pressing the button on your radio that says "dark" pressing it a couple of times will turn some console lights off to all console & dash lights apart from speedo

On my mid 2011 build DSport, I can confirm that the a/c lights (left temp adjust dial and right fan speed/direction dial) go out if you turn it completely off - ie. hold the fan speed button in until it turns off completely.

The "dark" button is not involved - however it does turn off the centre dial (the temp display).

Once they are all off, it's very hard to find them and turn it back on again yes.

Like others though, I never turn off my climate control - but I'm in Australia, after all
