  • We are a 2 DS3 family :)

Today John and I travelled 3 hours and over a 100 miles to Snows Volvo/SEAT of Poole (Dorset) to haggle for and buy a DS3 racing (my lads dream car)

We managed to get £3250 trade in for his Twingo and £990 off the screen price. The car is just under two and a half years old and has done 12000 miles. In near perfect condition apart from a curbed wheel which is being refurbed and two front tyres that are close to their limit. These are being replaced and a full tank of fuel added.

To say John is over the moon would be an understatement!

He is planning on joining this site and we now have at least two cars guaranteed to turn up for a Worcestershire/Midland area meet

He is 20 with a clean licence and no claims.

Fully comp with a £300 excess from Diamond Wheels is £598 and from Admiral £601 plus he can get his Mum another soft toy Meerkat

        Wow- that's good
For a Racing, under 21, not a lot of experience- would have guessed in the Thousands

We thought it would be but prices for lads seem much more affordable now. These comparison sites make a huge difference.

I was quoted £543 fully comp with £500 excess by Direct Line (who I had been with for years) for my DS3. I am 50 and never had a claim or any points in my 33 years of driving. I went on that compare the Meerkat site and got my insurance from esure for £201 with a £100 excess and fully protected no claims and 12 months Green Flag cover!

Yes- I know you have to swap about a bit to get a good deal
            I do too :-)

Thing is with me, I get suckered into all the extra bits

Plus you have to fend off the suggested quotes house insurance, pet insurance, being struck by a Meteor while pogo sticking naked in Iceland Insurance......................................... ....but well worth it for the savings

That's where I get suckered, and end up getting insurance for a year, for something I know will never use
Extra £50 this year. Must stop doing it. LOL

(Think it was an extra £40, as bought 2 extras for £25, then they gave me a tenner off- bargain LOL)
                She had a nice voice

Hope your son enjoys his car- bet he will

Thanks matey. I am sure he will judging by the grin on his face during the test drive. I had to keep kicking him to make him stay cool during the bartering part and when I stood up to leave with out doing the deal I thought he was going to cry.
The sales man cracked (like they always do on a Saturday when no one is walking into the dealership) and gave us the extra £500 for the Twingo Just as well otherwise John would have thrown me out of his car on the way home lol

Hi Kem, put your details into the Meerkat or other such site and see what they quote. I cancelled with Direct line and received my proof of no claims with in 4 days which gives you plenty of time to post to your new insurer.
